Everything could happen in Ruda Slaska at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Pogon RS and 8th ranked Zaglebie had identical 6-7 record. This time Pogon RS used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Sosnowiec 84-79 on Saturday night. Pogon RS outrebounded Zaglebie 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Zaglebie was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Mateusz Pawlik (180-92) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Pogon RS's coach Boguslaw Mol used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Michal Kwiatkowski (186-92, agency: Promotex) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pogon RS (7-7) moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow and Cieszyn. Loser Zaglebie dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Pogon RS will face higher ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (#3) in Jaworzno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zaglebie will play on the road against Cieszyn (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
