Regular Season Round 19: Stal SW - AZS UMCS 67-73

No shocking result in a game when second ranked AZS UMCS (14-5) beat 7th ranked Stal SW (8-11) in Stalowa Wola 73-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded Stal SW 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Rafal Krol (200-87) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Bartlomiej Karolak (198-92) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Point guard Rafal Partyka (184-79) answered with 16 points and center Tomasz Pawlus (186-96) added 13 points in the effort for Stal SW. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMCS maintains second place in Group B with 14-5 record having just three points less than leader AZS AGH Alstom. Newly promoted Stal SW dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. AZS UMCS will face Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#10) in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stal SW will play on the road against Shmoolky W-wa in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
