Regular Season Round 7: AZS PCz - MKS DG 2 72-91

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Czestochowa where eleventh ranked MKS DG 2 (2-4) outleveled 10th ranked AZS PCz (2-5) 91-72 on Saturday. MKS DG 2 made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 AZS PCz turnovers. AZS PCz was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) fired 29 points and 6 assists for the winners (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Maciej Kucharek (204-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and guard Patryk Wydra (182-97) added 14 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MKS DG 2 moved-up to ninth place in Group C, which they share with AZS PS Gliwice. Loser AZS PCz dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. MKS DG 2 will face Wisla Krakow (#12) at home in the next round. AZS PCz will play against Rybnik and hope to win that game.
