Regular Season Round 10: Sudety - Gornik Walbrzych 63-72

There was no surprise in Jelenia Gora where 5th ranked Sudety (5-3) was defeated by second ranked Gornik (8-1) 72-63 on Sunday. Gornik outrebounded Sudety 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Rafal Glapinski (183-82) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Gornik's coach Arkadiusz Chlebda used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) produced 27 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and swingman Aleksander Raczek (192-92) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Gornik maintains second position in Group D with 8-1 record behind leader AZS PK. Loser Sudety keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Gornik will face Koscian (#6) at home in the next round. Sudety will play against Miedzychod and hope to win that game.
