Regular Season Round 16: GTK Gliwice - Kotwica 77-72

Very predictable result when fourth ranked GTK Gliwice (11-5) defeated at home 10th ranked Kotwica (6-10) 77-72 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GTK Gliwice forced 19 Kotwica turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and Pawel Zmarlak (195-82, agency: Promotex) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Lukasz Bodych (201-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Pawel Dzierzak (188-95) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. GTK Gliwice maintains fourth position with 11-5 record, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Newly promoted Kotwica dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. GTK Gliwice will face league's leader Sokol Lancut on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kotwica will play against GKS Tychy (#6) and hope to win that game.
