Regular Season Round 18: Zaglebie - AZS KU PO 57-88

Very predictable result in Sosnowiec where fifth ranked AZS KU PO (10-5) smashed 10th ranked Zaglebie (4-12) 88-57 on Sunday. AZS KU PO dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Zaglebie's 30. Zaglebie was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) scored 13 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four AZS KU PO players scored in double figures. AZS KU PO's coach Jedrzej Suda felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) with 17 points and Maciej Balcerzak (194-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted AZS KU PO maintains fifth position with 10-5 record. Zaglebie lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. AZS KU PO will face AZS PCz (#13) in Czestochowa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaglebie will play at home against MKS DG 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
