Very predictable result when second ranked Gornik (20-3) beat on the road 11th ranked Otmuchow (5-17) 79-73 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Otmuchow 45-21 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Otmuchow was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Rafal Glapinski (183-82) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Gornik's coach Arkadiusz Chlebda used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Krzysztof Wilk (201-90) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Artur Barycza (195-86) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Gornik maintains second position with 20-3 record having just two points less than leader Slask Wroclaw. Otmuchow lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Gornik will face Nowa Sol (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Otmuchow will play against Kalisz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
