Very predictable result in Bytom where ninth ranked Polonia (14-12) beat 16th ranked Polonia (7-19) 111-103 on Saturday. Polonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Center Damian Cechniak (210-1993) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Patryk Pelka (202-1989) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Polonia players scored in double figures. Polonia's coach Jakub Pendrakowski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Alphonso Willis (188-1998, college: A&M-Commerce) responded with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Marek Piechowicz (201-1988) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Polonia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Koszalin. Polonia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Zgorzelec. Polonia will meet Enea Basket (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Polonia will play against Turow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
