1Liga top team - Gornik (25-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Polonia (16-14) in Walbrzych 84-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polonia. Gornik dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Polonia's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for guard Bartosz Majewski (193-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Adrian Kordalski (186-1995) helped adding 14 points and 7 assists. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Michal Kierlewicz (193-1997) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Marcin Dutkiewicz (197-1986) scored 18 points. Polonia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Gornik. They maintain first place with 25-6 record. Newly promoted Polonia keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Koszalin. Gornik will play against Turow (#17) in Zgorzelec in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Polonia will play at home against WKK (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
