Everything went according to plan in Stargard where Spojnia (3-0) edged Stal (1-2) 65-62 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American point guard Stephen Brown Jr (180-1996, college: Bucknell) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Devon Daniels (196-1998, college: NC State) chipped in 15 points. Spojnia's coach Sebastian Machowski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian Ojars Silins (201-1993) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Rodney Chatman (189-1998, college: Vanderbilt) added 17 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spojnia will meet Legia (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Stal will play against Suzuki Arka (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
