Regular Season Round 1: Polkowice - Wroclaw 79-74

Polkowice used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Wroclaw 79-74 on Saturday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Polkowice looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Emma Cannon (188-1989, college: FSC) nailed 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Latvian center Anete Steinberga (191-1990, college: UTEP) accounted for 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Robbi Ryan (175-1997, college: Arizona St.) came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Schaquilla Nunn (190-1994, college: Tennessee) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Wroclaw in the defeat. Four Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Polkowice will meet at home Gdynia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wroclaw will play against Poznan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
