Regular Season Round 2: AZS UW - Widzew 60-44

There was no surprise in Warszawa where Widzew was defeated by AZS UW 60-44 on Saturday. AZS UW forced 27 Widzew turnovers. Forward Natalia Smolczynska (181-1998) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Justyna Kowalska (185-1997) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Natalia Gzinka (178-1998) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and Jagoda Bandoch (178-1993) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Widzew's coach Mariusz Wojcik rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. AZS UW will meet at home Sokolow P. in the next round. Widzew's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Lodz to the arena Lodz.
