Important game to mention about took place in Gliwice. Eleventh rankedGTK (6-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-best Legia (7-5) 88-85 on Saturday evening. GTK players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by Slovakian point guard Mario Ihring (193-1998, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American center Malik Toppin (206-1997, college: Salem) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Toppin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four GTK players scored in double figures. GTK's coach Pawel Turkiewicz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by American-Guyanese Kameron McGusty (197-1997, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Legia . American-Kosovan Shawn Jones (203-1992, college: MTSU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. GTK moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Slask and Spojnia. Legia at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
