The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#1) and Al Arabi (#8). Al Arabi was crushed at home by 17 points 75-92 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Al Sadd. Al Arabi managed to win fourth quarter 34-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Al Arabi to just 7 points in second quarter. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Arabi's 36. Al Sadd forced 19 Al Arabi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Ivorian-French center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Italian point guard Anthony Raffa (185-89, college: Co.Carolina) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American center Todd O'Brien (211-89, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import point guard Temi Soyebo (183-84, college: NC-Wilmington) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists respectively for lost side. Al Sadd (11-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Al Arabi lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Qatar. Al Sadd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Arabi will play at home against Al Khor (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
