No shocking result in a game when sixth rankedCluj Napoca (5-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Sibiu (4-4) 100-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Sibiu managed to win second period 17-16 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sibiu 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Cluj Napoca looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sibiu 's players. The winners were led by American center DeShawn Stephens (203-1989, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Cuban swingman Karel Guzman (192-1995) supported him with 15 points. Four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American guard Jalon Pipkins (193-1998, college: PFW) did not help to save the game for Sibiu . His fellow American import power forward Alex Gross (208-2000, college: Morehead St.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Loser Sibiu keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Timisoara and Steaua.
