There was no surprise when 8th rankedTimisoara (1-9) was crushed at home by third ranked Rapid (8-2) 128-32 on Sunday. The game without a history. Rapid led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Timisoara to just 6 points in first quarter. Rapid well out of reach of Timisoara shooting 71.8 percent from the field. They also forced 30 Timisoara turnovers and outrebounded them 42-15 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rapid shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Timisoara 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Annemarie Gordi-Parau (175-1984) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 assists and 6 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international center Nicolett Orban (190-2000) who added 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Rapid players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was with 9 points and scored 7 points. Timisoara's coach Dan Ionescu gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Rapid have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record behind leader Arad. Timisoara lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with nine games lost.
