Liga Nationala top team -Sf.Gheorghe (13-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Sp.Studentesc (5-10) in Bucuresti 117-59 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sp.Studentesc. The game without a history. Sf.Gheorghe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Sf.Gheorghe forced 28 Sp.Studentesc turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Sf.Gheorghe looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sp.Studentesc 's players. American guard Domonique Davis (168-2000, college: Southern Miss) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 assists for the winners and Hungarian swingman Beatrix Meresz (185-1999) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Sf.Gheorghe players scored in double figures. Forward Anisia Puscasu (178-2005) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Agnes Zane (-2006) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sf.Gheorghe have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record, which they share with Rapid. Newly promoted Sp.Studentesc keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Agronomia.
