There was a minor upset whenSamara lost to Neftyanik in Omsk 64-68 on Thursday. Neftyanik made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game, while Samara only scored twelve points from the stripe. Strangely Samara outrebounded Neftyanik 43-30 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Anna Pachurina (195-1995) notched 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Viktoriya Ryzhenko (185-2002) supported her with 11 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Neftyanik's coach Elena Shakirova used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by forward Julia Poluyanova (187-1992) did not help to save the game for Samara . The former international Sabina Abaidullina (187-1997) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Four Samara players scored in double figures.
