Regular Season Round 4: Spisski Rytieri - Inter Bratislava 97-63
Date: October 7, 2023
Spisski Rytieri can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Inter Bratislava (2-2) 97-63 on Saturday. Spisski Rytieri dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Inter Bratislava's 20. They outrebounded Inter Bratislava 48-30 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spisski Rytieri made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Daishon Smith (185-1995, college: ULM, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Michal Fusek (223-1995, agency: 011 Sports) who added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks during the contest. At the losing side Bosnian-Croatian power forward Gojko Sudzum (204-1994) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian forward Ozren Pavlovic (203-1994, college: Hawaii) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spisski Rytieri (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Nitra. Loser Inter Bratislava dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Spisski Rytieri will meet league's second-placed Iskra Svit on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Inter Bratislava will have a break next round.
