Regular Season Round 17: Lucenec - Inter Bratislava 101-92

The game between third ranked Inter Bratislava (11-6) and ninth ranked Lucenec (5-12) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Inter Bratislava was defeated by Lucenec in a tough game in Lucenec 92-101. Lucenec looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Alfred Hollins (198-1999, college: UTEP) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Jalen Johnson (203-2001, college: GSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Hollins is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lucenec's coach Pieti Poikola used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Dontay Caruthers (185-1995, college: Buffalo, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman RJ Gunn (201-1999, college: Duquesne, agency: Players Group) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Lucenec and four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Lucenec maintains ninth place with 5-12 record. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Blue Wings. Lucenec are looking forward to face higher ranked Spisski Rytieri (#5) in Nova Ves in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inter Bratislava will play at home against Komarno and is hoping to win this game.
