Regular Season Round 17: Triglav - Jezica 69-38

There was no surprise in Kranj where 5th rankedJezica (4-13) was crushed by second ranked Triglav (11-4) 69-38 on Saturday. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Jezica 's 24. They outrebounded Jezica 42-24 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Triglav looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Jezica 's players. Forward Manca Vrecer (178-2002) stepped up and scored 13 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international Ajda Burgar (177-2001) chipped in 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guard Ana Micunovic (172-2003) responded with 11 points and guard Tina Tomsic (175-2004) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Triglav . They maintain second place with 11-4 record having six points less than leader Celje. Jezica lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 13 games lost.
