Regular Season Round 12: Lucentum - Granada 71-65

There was no surprise when 6th ranked CB Granada (6-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Meridiano Alicante (8-3) 71-65. It looked good early as CB Granada took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Meridiano Alicante had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and CB Granada was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-71. The winners were led by American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland, agency: HMS) who scored that evening 19 points and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) supported him with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Aramburu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds by the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) did not help to save the game for CB Granada. Guard Bernardo Castillo (196-88) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Meridiano Alicante maintains third position with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader Avila. Newly promoted CB Granada keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
