Regular Season Round 16: Oviedo - Penas Huesca 60-83

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Oviedo CB (9-7) was rolled over at home by eighth ranked Lobe Huesca (9-7) 83-60. The game was mostly controlled by Lobe Huesca. Oviedo CB was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lobe Huesca dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo CB to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Oviedo CB 37-23 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Oviedo CB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for Brazilian power forward Daniel Bordignon (206-96) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Lithuanian swingman Tadas Sedekerskis (201-98) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Point guard Ferran Bassas (183-92) replied with 15 points and 5 assists and swingman Victor Perez (195-82) added 13 points in the effort for Oviedo CB. Oviedo CB's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lobe Huesca have an impressive five-game winning streak. Lobe Huesca moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Oviedo. Lobe Huesca's next round opponent will be Caceres Basket (#8) at home. Oviedo CB will play against CB Prat and hope to win that game.
