Regular Season Round 15: Agustinos-Eras - Leon 82-77

Rather expected game when 4th placed Leon (6-4) was defeated on the road by first ranked Agustinos-Eras (9-1) 82-77 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-77. Agustinos-Eras made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Leon only scored four points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American center Kevin Rima (204-92, college: NW Nazarene) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Jaime Dieguez (184-89) helped adding 24 points and 4 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was guard Diego Mallou (180-94) with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Trevor Berkeley (198-92, college: Drake) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Agustinos-Eras and five Leon players scored in double figures. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Agustinos-Eras. They maintain first place in Group A-B with 9-1 record. Loser Leon dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Agustinos-Eras will face Naron (#5) on the road in the next round. Leon will play against Betanzos and hope to win that game.
