Regular Season Round 29: Gandia Basquet - Paterna 85-66

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Paterna (12-14) was outscored on the road by first ranked Gandia Basquet (23-3) 85-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gandia Basquet. Paterna was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gandia Basquet forced 21 Paterna turnovers and outrebounded them 49-28 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: Mass.-Lowell) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Fitzgerald White (201-91, college: Union, KY) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Carlos Cerdan (190-97) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Victor Arnau (184-91) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Paterna. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gandia Basquet maintains first place in Group E Clas with 23-3 record. Loser Paterna keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost.
