Regular Season Round 34: Sevilla - Real Madrid 90-97

Very expected game when 11th ranked Sevilla (14-20) was defeated at home by second ranked Real Madrid (29-5) 97-90 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But Sevilla won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international Sergio Llull (190-87) chipped in 21 points during the contest. At the losing side Swedish point guard Ludvig Hakanson (190-96) responded with 26 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with FC Barcelona. Loser Sevilla keeps the eleventh place with 20 games lost.
