Regular Season Round 2: Menorca - Olivar 81-69

Menorca used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Zaragoza 81-69 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Menorca. Olivar was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olivar to just 5 points in second quarter. Menorca made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Center Angel Piedra (204-80) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Menorca players scored in double figures. Forward Jaime Pradilla (198-1) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jaime Fernandez (203-0) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Menorca will face Cornella (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olivar will play against Mataro and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
