Regular Season Round 5: FC Barcelona - Sevilla 80-58

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Sevilla (2-3) was smashed on the road by sixth ranked FC Barcelona (3-1) 80-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sevilla was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatia center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Swedish Marcus Eriksson (200-93) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. American guard Trent Lockett (196-90, college: Marquette) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Slovenia Bostjan Nachbar (206-80) added 12 points in the effort for Sevilla. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FC Barcelona moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Andorra and Valencia. Loser Sevilla dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. FC Barcelona will face Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#16) in Madrid in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sevilla will play at home against Blusens Monbus (#15) and hope to win that game.
