Regular Season Round 7: Arenys - Menorca 76-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Arenys' (3-2) home loss to second ranked Menorca (5-1) in Arenys del Mar 76-82 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for point guard Daniel Garcia Tora (192-79) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Point guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Menorca's coach Joan Martinez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FYR Macedonia point guard Nenad Dimitrijevic (180-98) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and Bahamas power forward Christopher Turnquest (203-83, college: Miles CC) added 19 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) in the effort for Arenys. Four Arenys players scored in double figures. Menorca keeps a position of Group C-A leader, which they share with Martorell. Loser Arenys dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Menorca will face AEC Collblanc (#5) in L´Hospitalet in the next round. Arenys will play on the road against Olivar in Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
