Regular Season Round 7: Venta de Banos - Burgos 83-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Burgos (2-3) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Venta de Banos (1-4) 83-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. Venta de Banos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Venta de Banos outrebounded Burgos 35-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Estonia Robert Valge (192-97) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Daniel Manchon (191-98) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Jalen Jaspers (190-92, college: Mary) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Burgos. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venta de Banos left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group A-A, which they share with Univ.Burgos and Pielagos. Loser Burgos keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Venta de Banos will face Pielagos (#12) in Renedo de Pielagos in the next round.
