Regular Season Round 7: La Roda - Guadalajara 84-83

Very expected game when 13th ranked CB Guadalajara (1-5) was edged on the road by first ranked La Roda (6-1) 84-83 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. La Roda made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. CB Guadalajara was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists. Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Power forward Rafael Molina (202-89) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American-Nigeria forward Ryan Okwudibonye (203-91, college: CS East Bay) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for CB Guadalajara. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CB Guadalajara's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. La Roda maintains first place in Group B with 6-1 record, which they share with Real Canoe. CB Guadalajara lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. La Roda will face league's second-placed Real Canoe in Madrid in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CB Guadalajara will play at home against Viten Fuen. (#16) and hope to win that game.
