Regular Season Round 9: Oviedo - Prat 80-74

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Oviedo CB (6-3) defeated at home 11th ranked CB Prat (3-6) 80-74 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Oviedo CB outrebounded CB Prat 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Brazilian center Felipe Dos Anjos (218-98) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Fabio Santana (188-92, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 22 points. Santana is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was Xabier Lopez (198-97) who recorded 31 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and Pep Ortega (201-84) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. CB Prat's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Oviedo CB moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Palencia and Araberri. CB Prat lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Oviedo CB will face Castello (#16) in Castellon in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CB Prat will play at home against Magia Huesca (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
