Regular Season Round 10: Zornotza - Sammic ISB 60-57

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Sammic ISB (7-3) in Amorebieta-Echano on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by ninth ranked Zornotza (6-4) 60-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sammic ISB. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 32-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Greg Gantt (188-91, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 9 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Sammic ISB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zornotza moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cambados. Sammic ISB at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Zornotza is looking forward to face L'Hospitalet (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sammic ISB will play against Blancos de Rueda (#9) in Valladolid and is hoping to win this game.
