Regular Season Round 11: Castellbisbal - Menorca 72-79

Rather expected game when 3rd placed Castellbisbal (6-4) was defeated at home by first ranked Menorca (8-2) 79-72 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-72. Menorca dominated on the defensive end, holding Castellbisbal to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for point guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. Center Jan Orfila (207-84) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Felix Lopez (190-85) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Marc Manes (196-86) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Menorca maintains first place in Group C-A with 8-2 record, which they share with Calvia. Loser Castellbisbal keeps the third position with four games lost.
