Regular Season Round 14: Zornotza - Alcazar 58-64

There was a minor upset in Amorebieta-Echano where 8th ranked Zornotza (7-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Alcazar (7-7) 64-58. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 15-10 Zornotza's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 64-58 at the end of the game. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) notched 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190-93, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) supported him with 15 points. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) did not help to save the game for Zornotza. Point guard Iker Salazar (192-93) added 6 points and 16 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alcazar moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Zornotza. Alcazar's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sammic ISB (#4) in Azpeitia and it may be quite challenging game.
