There was no surprise in S'Arenal where 16th ranked Marin (5-16) was defeated by eleventh ranked Palma (10-11) 80-69 on Sunday. Palma outrebounded Marin 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Palma players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Tim Derksen (191-94, college: USF) added 21 points respectively. Palma maintains eleventh place with 10-11 record. Newly promoted Marin keeps the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Palma will face Magia Huesca (#17) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Marin will play against Araberri and hope to win that game.
