Regular Season Round 17: Ardoi - Pielagos 83-77

There was no surprise in Zizur Mayor where 7th ranked Pielagos (6-8) was defeated by third ranked Ardoi (11-3) 83-77 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ardoi had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Ignacio Urtasun (187-80) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Naturalized Ukrainian center Volodymyr Orlov (208-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard David Garcia (192-80) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Pielagos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ardoi moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Easo. Loser Pielagos keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Ardoi will face Easo (#3) in San Sebastian in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pielagos will play at home against Burgos (#11) and hope to win that game.
