Regular Season Round 18: Igualada - Quart 98-71

EBA round 18 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Quart (12-3) against eighth ranked Igualada (6-9) 98-71 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Quart. The game without a history. Igualada led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 31 personal fouls committed by Quart helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Pau Cami (170-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. Igualada's coach Jordi Marti felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Uruguayan center Brad Kanis (218-83, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Eric Jimenez (190-90) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Quart. Igualada maintains eighth position in Group C-B with 6-9 record, which they share with Valls Nutrion. Quart at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Pardinyes-L. and Mollet. They were replaced at the leadership position by Chantada. Quart will play next round against strong Pardinyes-L. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Igualada will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Andorra II on the road.
