Very important is a home loss of third ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (12-7) against fourteenth ranked Gandia (6-13) on Saturday night. Host Fontedoso Carrefour was edged by Gandia in a tough game in Avila 75-76. Fontedoso Carrefour was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Bahamas guard Dynile Forbes (190-87, college: La-Monroe) who led the winners and scored 19 points. Power forward Jose Luis Otero (203-89) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. American forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Javier Marin (195-94) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Fontedoso Carrefour in the defeat. Fontedoso Carrefour's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gandia moved-up to thirteenth place. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Cambados. Gandia will play against higher ranked Alcazar (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fontedoso Carrefour will play against CB Tarragona 2017 and hopes to get back on the winning track.
