Regular Season Round 20: Zamorano - Lucentum 72-75

Date: February 11, 2017
Sixteenth-ranked Zamorano (5-15) made lots of trouble for third ranked Meridiano Alicante (14-7) on Saturday. The visitors from Alicante managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Cameroonian center Johan Bitjaa (207-93, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and center Christopher Iza (206-95) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Zamorano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Meridiano Alicante maintains third position with 14-7 record behind leader Granada. Newly promoted Zamorano stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Tarragona and Albacete. Meridiano Alicante will meet at home Moron (#6) in the next round. Zamorano will play against Zornotza (#10) in Amorebieta-Echano and hope to secure a win.
