Regular Season Round 24: Lucentum - Sammic ISB 53-62

An interesting game for Sammic ISB (18-6) which played road game in Alicante against 4th ranked Meridiano Alicante (16-9). Second ranked Sammic ISB managed to get a 9-point victory 62-53. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-53. It was a good game for center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Guillermo Rejon (206-77) replied with 14 points and point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Meridiano Alicante. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sammic ISB have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Meridiano Alicante at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Sammic ISB are looking forward to face Zornotza (#7) in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round where they are favorite. Meridiano Alicante will play on the road against L'Hospitalet and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
