Regular Season Round 27: Castellbisbal - Olivar 67-84

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Olivar (11-13) won against on the road higher ranked Castellbisbal (12-11) 84-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Olivar. Castellbisbal was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olivar forced 23 Castellbisbal turnovers. Castellbisbal was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Czech swingman Simon Pursl (203-97) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Carlos Alocen (189-0) chipped in 15 points. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Felix Lopez (190-85) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Gerard Galbete (204-88) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olivar maintains ninth place in Group C-A with 11-13 record. Loser Castellbisbal dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Olivar will face higher ranked Salt (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
