Regular Season Round 31: Huesca - Gipuzkoa GBC 62-75

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gipuzkoa (22-9) beat on the road 16th ranked Magia Huesca (10-21) 75-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gipuzkoa. Magia Huesca managed to win second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Xavi Oroz (192-96) who led the winners and scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) accounted for 14 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Gipuzkoa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Alberto Fontet (213-86) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Mikel Motos (193-93, college: Sammic ISB) added 10 points respectively for Magia Huesca in the defeat. Gipuzkoa keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Breogan. Loser Magia Huesca keeps the sixteenth place with 21 games lost. Gipuzkoa will meet Melilla Baloncesto (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Magia Huesca will play against Burgos (#3) and hope to secure a win.
