Regular Season Round 1: Obradoiro - Zaragoza 80-74

Date: September 30, 2017
Blusens Monbus used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Zaragoza 80-74 on Saturday night. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zaragoza was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 24-13 charge of Blusens Monbus, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for American guard Matt Thomas (196-94, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Ukrainian center Artem Pustovyi (218-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian Janis Blums (191-82) added 17 points in the effort for Zaragoza. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blusens Monbus will face Valencia Basket (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaragoza will play against Gran Canaria (#3) and hope to win that game.
