Regular Season Round 4: Ponferrada CDP - Chantada 91-81

Both top-ranked Ponferrada CDP and one of their biggest challengers Chantada had identical 1-0 record. This time Ponferrada CDP used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Chantada 91-81 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. The game was mostly controlled by Ponferrada CDP. Chantada was better in fourth quarter 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ponferrada CDP dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chantada's 38. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ponferrada CDP (2-0) keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Chantada dropped to the sixth place with one game lost. Ponferrada CDP will face Culleredo (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chantada will play against Obradoiro II (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
