Regular Season Round 4: Culleredo - Innova Chef 90-100

Date: October 12, 2017
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Innova Chef and bottom-ranked Culleredo had identical 0-1 record. But Culleredo was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zamora 100-90 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Innova Chef. Culleredo was better in third quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Culleredo outrebounded Innova Chef 28-14. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emmanuel Johnson (198, college: Mont.St.-Billings) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists and point guard Pedro de-la-Calle (185-91) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Dallas Searles (190-92, college: Quest) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Kyree Marshall (198-94, college: Elizabeth City) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Innova Chef and four Culleredo players scored in double figures. Innova Chef (1-1) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Culleredo still closes the standings with two games lost. Innova Chef will face higher ranked Marin (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Culleredo will play against Ponferrada CDP (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
