Regular Season Round 3: L'Hospitalet - Fundacion 5+11 97-76

There was a minor upset when Fundacion 5+11 (1-2) was smashed on the road by L'Hospitalet (1-2) 97-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by L'Hospitalet. Fundacion 5+11 was better in fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. L'Hospitalet dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fundacion 5+11's 32. They outrebounded Fundacion 5+11 41-21 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for L'Hospitalet especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for point guard Pol Bassas (184-95) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Georgian center Shota Gelazonia (205-94) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Four L'Hospitalet players scored in double figures. L'Hospitalet's coach Jorge Tarragona felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Estonian swingman Sander Raieste (200-99) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Miguel Gonzalez (201-99) added 15 points in the effort for Fundacion 5+11. L'Hospitalet will face Martorell (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
