Regular Season Round 5: Plasencia - Granada 71-77

The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest CB Granada's (4-1) road victory over Plasencia (#5) 77-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Plasencia. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Plasencia trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 24-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-77 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was Brazilian guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) who scored 14 points and 5 assists. Power forward Devin Wright (202-86) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. CB Granada's coach Pablo Pin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and forward Mario Alvarez (196-91) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
