The biggest surprise of round 8 was guest Myrtia's (6-2) road victory over CB Granada (#5) 76-73 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 19-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Myrtia made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Strangely CB Granada outrebounded Myrtia 33-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Italian-Argentinian swingman Juan-Ignacio Jasen (196-85) who scored 23 points. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Center Ferran Torres (201-88) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and Brazilian guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Myrtia moved-up to second place, which they share with Lucentum. CB Granada at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Myrtia is looking forward to face Moron (#6) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round. CB Granada will play on the road against the league's leader Albacete and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
