Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Sant Josep (8-6) defeated on the road 9th ranked Tarragona (6-8) 80-73 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sant Josep forced 20 Tarragona turnovers. Tarragona was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Gerard Blat (181-97) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward William Truss (203, college: Presbyterian) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Sant Josep's coach Sergi Vives used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Adria Duch (185-95) answered with 29 points and Senegalese forward Modou Mbaye (201-94) added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Tarragona. Newly promoted Sant Josep maintains sixth place in Group C-A with 8-6 record. Tarragona lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
